After a low
acceptance of its Facebook Home Android app, Facebook has decided to add four
third party social sites to the application. The sites to be added include
Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr and Facebook’s Instagram.
Facebook’s
Engineering Manager, Tom Alison revealed this in a statement on Facebook Press
Room and it will start from today (Thursday, October 3, 2013).

This will
allow you to get notifications from the sites on the homescreen of your android
smartphone. You’ll also be able to favourite/heart an image from the homescreen
of your device. To give you better options, it will also include a link which
will allow you to go to the web page if you wish to.
This update
is not yet available to all Facebook Home app and is only available to users
who have signed up for Facebook’s beta tester program. This mode can be
switched on by going to settings and selecting the other apps you would like to
integrate with Facebook Home.
The update
will soon be on all Facebook Home app although Facebook has not indicated a
particular time for the roll out. It is also not clear yet if or when Facebook
will include other social sites like Twitter and LinkedIn.
