was the former CEO and current Chairman of Google Inc. He was the Chief
Executive Officer of the internet giant from 2001 to 2011 when Larry Page came
on board. He is now the Chairman and he’s one of the richest men in the United
States with an estimated net worth of $9.3 billion (according to Forbes).

Facebook acquires Whatsapp for $19 billion

The mega
social media giant has announced the acquisition of messaging app Whatsapp for
a price of $19 billion. $4 billion will be paid in cash, $16 billion in
Facebook shares and $3 billion in vesting restricted stock units.

market place on the internet. Today, that dream has come to fulfillment. With a
market capitalization of about $165 billion, Amazon is clearly the biggest

Twitter released
its earnings call on the 4th of February and its market capitalization has fell
about 25% from about $36 billion to $27 billion in an occurrence that showed
investors were losing faith rapidly in the second largest social network.

Mobile data usage had an 81% increase in 2013

The latest
release by Cisco Visual Networking Index (VNI) has revealed that data usage by
mobile devices increased from 820 petabytes in a month in 2012 to 1.5 exabytes
in a month in 2013. It went further to forecast that this will increase to 15
exabytes in a month by 2018.

Facebook has revealed
through its Product Manager, News Feed Ranking, Chris Turitzin in a blog post
that users of Facebook will see less of text updates from pages and more text
updates from their friends. It was also revealed that other types of contents
from pages could get more rank in the news feed than before.
