After a year
and eight months that Instagram debuted on Android, the photo sharing app is
now available on the Windows Phone Store for users on the Windows Phone
platform.
Instagram
announced the beta version of its app for Windows phone on its official blog.
Many users of Windows Phone OS especially Nokia smartphone users will be happy
with this but the app is missing important features that are available on other
platforms.

The app is
missing the video uploading capability and is still unable to snap pictures
from the in app camera feature. Instagram has however revealed that it will
improve and add new features the app soon.
“We wanted to
make Instagram available to people with Windows Phone as quickly as possible, so
we focused on creating an awesome experience with Instagram’s core features.”
the blog post states.
“We’re not
finished, and our team will continue developing the Windows Phone app to keep
releasing features and bringing you the best Instagram possible.”
Of course,
Instagram has moved a long way from the time it debuted on Android in 2012 till
now. It has moved from a 30 million monthly user social site to a 150 million
monthly user social site.
Prior to this
there have been analysts who have been watching when the image and video
sharing app will finally arrive on Windows due to the fact that one of the best
features on most Windows Phone smartphones is their camera’s capabilities.
There have
been unofficial Instagram app on the Windows Phone Store before but this is the
first time for the official app and users will have to be patient to wait for
the complete features of the app.
