According
to rumours on the web, Samsung will release its Galaxy Note III as its custom
at the IFA conference on the 6th of September this year. Along with the
phablet, it is also expected that a smartwatch will be launched at the event.
The rumour
has its source from Patently Apple which claims that Samsung is trying to beat
Apple to launch the smartwatch Gear before Apple launches it iWatch which is
also in the development phase.
It also
claims Samsung is only trying to look like a leader without really offering
innovation in the potential smartwatch market. This is understandable if you
note that this is coming from an Apple blog.
There have
been claims that this new smartwatch may be more of an accessory than an
independent device. Due to the size of the phablet which makes it difficult to
remove from your pocket at any incident of sound from the device, it is
expected that you would be able to control it through the smartwatch device.
The
smartwatch will display notifications of the phablet like messages or calls and
will run on a modified version of Android. It must be noted however that
Samsung won’t be the first tech company to bring the smartwatch device to the
market. Pebble has introduced its smartwatch into the market and Japanese Tech
Company Sony has released two products in the smartwatch category.
Patently
Apple in its post didn’t mention any source of this info or if it even had any
source for this info, so this info must be treated more like a low probability
rumour rather than high expectation.
