An
electrician was electrocuted on a PHCN pole in Jos after he tried to change the
supply into his shop to a phase with more regular supply. The electrician whose
name is Chukwuebuka Eze met his untimely death as fate didn’t shine luck to him
on that fateful day.
While he
was trying to change the supply to his shop to a more regular phase, PHCN
restored electricity supply to the area and Chukwuebuka didn’t survive the
extreme shock. The tragic incident occurred at about 1:00p.m yesterday, Tuesday
23rd of July, 2013.
An eyewitness
(who was also a neighbour) told Nigerian Tribune that his shirt caught fire
when the supply was restored and he was glued to the pole. People within the
vicinity later noticed the sparks and Eze’s clothes on fire but could not
rescue the young igbo man.
It took the
efforts of PHCN staffs and some other people before he was brought down from
the pole. His corpse was later taken to the mortuary by officials of PHCN and
police.
This is
another tragic evidence of the saying that says electricity is a good servant
but a bad master. Safety is of utmost importance while working with electric
installations because you may not have the opportunity to make another mistake
if you make one. If you’re able to, you’re one of the few lucky ones.

May his soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
DeleteNow this is very bad, this is why we always advice other future technicians to take safety as outermost priority.
ReplyDeleteMay his soul R.I.P though
Yeah it's very important. Safety first, there's nothing we can do without life.
