The first
smartphone to be made by Motorola after it was acquired by Google, Moto X, has
had some of its features leaked in a video which showed an advert by Canadian
telecommunication company Rogers of the new Google phone.
The most
prominent feature of the smartphone according to the leak is that you can
operate the device without touching it. A voice command “Ok Google Now” will
make the phone active even when the screen display is off.
You can
also switch the camera app on by flicking your wrist twice. While the camera
app is on, you can take a picture by touching any part of the screen. To snap
multiple pictures successively, the screen of the phone is held by your fingers
for a period of time.
Another
unique feature of the Google’s Moto X phone is that instead of blinking the
notification light, as presently done by smartphones, it shows the notification
on the screen. For instance, a message coming in into Facebook messenger will
be displayed on the screen. The user can switch the notifications off after a
specific number of times. This is called the ‘Active Updates’.
According
to the ad, it is expected that the Moto X phone will be available to Canadian
customers by August which correlates with the rumours of a summer release. It
is also rumoured that it will be available to AT & T and T-mobile users in
the U. S. later in the month with Verizon also in the mix.
Moto X has
a plastic back and will be available in black and white colours. The possible
price range of the device has not yet been known as at the time of this
writing. More details as we get them.
