This feat is attributable to the rising stock of the social website. Facebook has seen its shares rise more than 100 percent after a fall that saw the share go beyond 100% below its initial public offering of $38.
Facebook’s shares have recovered since as it hit its initial public offering price of $38 in July this year. Facebook’s shares have been increasing since then and it recently reached an all-time high of $45.
This was due to the resurrection of faith in the company after it announced that 41 percent of its second quarter earnings was from mobile devices. Investors had earlier been wary of Facebook ability to utilize traffic from its mobile devices which is increasing.
Not only Mark was affected by Facebook’s rise which now places the worth of the company at over a $100 billon, one of the co-founders, 29 year old Dustin Moskovitz was also affected as he moved from a worth of $2.7 billion to $5.2 billion this year.
Other tech personalities that made the list includes: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates which came at the top of the list with a worth of $72 billion, Oracle founder Larry Ellison came in at the third position with a worth of $41 billion.
