British media has reported that Korean women received the
most plastic surgery operation per head of population.
13 cosmetic surgery operations per 1000 people were done in 2011, according to the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, which show that one in 77 people had undergone cosmetic surgery procedures.
One in five women aged 19-49 living in cities reported to have gone under the knife.
While Korea topped the list in relative terms, the United States ranked at the top when it came to the total number of operations, posting 3.1million cosmetic surgery procedures last year.
Plastic surgery is a medical specialty concerned with the correction or restoration of form and function. Cosmetic surgery is the best known kind of plastic surgery though it is not the only type.
There are other types like reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and treatment of burns.
It is reported that about 17 million operations is carried out per year. As with an surgery procedure, plastic surgery has its risks.
One Claudia Seye Aderotimi died in 2011 following an operation using an unapproved substance. Liquid silicone was injected into her buttocks in a procedure designed to enhance her bottom.

ReplyDeleteAs the face ages this gives the appearance of lower eye bags and dark circles. Until quite recently, it was thought that only surgery could improve the eye bags, and there were no effective treatments for the annoying dark circles under the eyes.
