Nokia Lumia
1020 which has had various information leakages is now with its leakage of full
specifications of features ahead of its launch as Nokia seek to regain lost
ground in the smartphone battle.
The new
Nokia phone is equipped with growing Windows Phone 8 Operating System. It is
expected that the phone will spot a 4.5-inch AMOLED HD+ screen with a display
resolution of 1280 × 768 and Gorilla Glass 3. It has a
2000 mAh battery and wireless charging is supported through accessory cover.
This will allow a talk time of up to 13.3hrs (3G), Standby time of 16 days,
Video playback for 6.8hrs, and music playback time of 63hrs.
It also has
a high-brightness mode and a Sunlight Readability feature that allows you to
see the screen when using it outside. It has connectivity of GSM
850/900/1800/1900, WCDMA 2100/1900/900/850, LTE bands 1/3/7/20/8, HSPA+ DL Cat
24, dual-carrier 42.1mbps/UL Cat 5.76mbps. It also has NFC, 802.11 a/b/g/n,
GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, and USB 2.0.
It is
equipped with a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a speed of 1.5GHz,
2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage space. There was no mention of space
for card slot so details about that are still fuzzy but it is equipped with 7GB
Skydrive cloud storage.
Perhaps
where Nokia Lumia 1020 leads the pack is its camera that even camera devices
will be jealous of. Its back facing camera has a 41 Megapixel sensor with Xenon
flash and LED for video. Its front facing camera is 1.2 Megapixel. It has a
size of 130.4 × 71.4 × 10.4 mm and a
weight of 158 grams. It is coming in the colours of Yellow, White, and Black.

expected that the device will be launched today at a Nokia’s press event in New

Although
Nokia is losing the smartphone battle in the world, it still has the highest
percentage of mobile phones in Nigeria. Many choose Nokia due to its durability
and long battery life. But Nokia smartphones are not very common and Tecno is
also coming up with cheap smartphones.
