The new form has not been implemented on every users’ account. The new News feed is being tested on some selected accounts. It is expected that the News feed will be implemented on every users’ account.

It is expected that the News feed will be implemented in every users’ accounts in six months time.
However, there are things to be known about the News feed even before it will be implemented on your account;

1.       The change to be implemented is to focus majorly on photos, videos, and music and division into other various sections. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the makeover was part of an effort to position the social network as a “personalized newspaper”, complete with different sections for users to explore.

 2.       The new News feed comes with a revamped interface that gives more prominence to visual media, such as photos and videos.

 3.       The increase in visual media will enhance incorporated ads into the News feed that Facebook has started on its mobile platform. Since more people now access Facebook on mobile phones than on desktop, it will give Facebook the capability to advertise effectively on its mobile platform.

4.       Each News feed will automatically be tuned to the interests of individual Facebook users (according to technical lead Chris Struhar).

“I think there is a special place in the world for this sort of personalized newspaper.”

“It should have a front page and top news section or let you drill down into any topic you want.”

“Back when we started News feed, it was primarily made of text,”

“Now that we all have cameras in our pockets, in our phones, the majority of this content is photos.”

“This gives people more power to dig deeper into the topics they care about.”- Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook.

Facebook, we are waiting.
