Aristotle is
one of the fathers of philosophy and contributed to so many fields including
science while he was alive. He had writings in many subjects which include
physics, metaphysics, poetry, music, logic, politics, etc.
If there is
anyone that will have many wonderful quotes, I think it will be this great
Greek philosopher.
Aristotle |
Here are some
of his quotes:
“Excellence
is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we
have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted
rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a
habit.”
“I count
him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies, for the
hardest victory is over self.”
“The
educated differ from the uneducated as much as the living differ from the dead.”
“It is the
mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting
it.”
“A friend
to all is a friend to none.”
“Friendship
is a single soul dwelling in two bodies.”
“Knowing
yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
“Those who
know, do. Those that understand, teach.”
“No great
mind has ever existed without a touch of madness.”
“To avoid
criticism say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.”
“The worst
form of inequality is trying to make unequal things equal.”
“You will
never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of
mind next to honor.”
“At his
best, man is the noblest of all animals; separated from law and justice he is
the worst.”
“Those who
educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for
these only gave them life, those the art of living well.”
“Excellence
is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere
effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many
alternatives – choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”
“Anybody
can become angry – that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to
the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the
right way – that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.”
Have a great week ahead.
