After the bad
reception of Blackberry 10 devices like the Blackberry Q10 and Blackberry Z10,
the Canadian company has tried once again to regain its stance in the
smartphone market with a new, bigger, faster, and improved smartphone.
The Blackberry
Z30 smartphone was announced by Blackberry today (18th of September, 2013) and
it is the most advanced smartphone ever made by Blackberry according to Blackberry.

“The new Blackberry
Z30 smartphone builds on the solid foundation and engaging user experience of
the Blackberry 10 platform with features like the powerful Blackberry Hub, its
exceptional touchscreen keyboard and industry leading browser,” Carlo
Chiarello, Executive Vice President for Products at Blackberry said.
Blackberry Z30
comes with the biggest screen ever by a Blackberry smartphone with a 5-inch
AMOLED display. It comes with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor,
which is backed up by a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM.
It comes with
the latest version of BB10 OS which is 10.2 and a resolution of 1280 × 720. It has
also come with the best battery ever for a Blackberry smartphone with a
2,880-mAh non-removable battery. Blackberry claims this battery when fully
charged will be able to serve the smartphone for 25 hours of mixed use.
It features an
8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera. Likewise the front and
back camera will record 1080p and 720p videos respectively. It supports 4G LTE,
Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and NFC.
The Blackberry
Z30 has come with some unique features like BBM Now which allow you to respond
to any message on the messenger while you’re using another app. It also has a
new antenna technology which improves connectivity in low signal areas. This allows
faster data and fewer dropped calls in these areas.
It is
expected that the Blackberry Z30 will be available starting from next week. It
will get to the U. K. and Middle East first before other regions according to
Blackberry. The pricing of the device is not yet known at this moment.
Blackberry
has tried with this new smartphone though I think this may not be enough to
mount a serious challenge to the like of Samsung and Apple. It is yet unclear
how consumers will react to this new product and I think the price will also
have an important role to play.
