According to
reports from The Korea Economic Daily, Samsung Electronics is planning to make
a 12-inch tablet which will be its biggest yet.
The daily
claim that its industry sources have claimed that Samsung is working on a 12.2-inch
tablet PC that may be available as soon as October this year. The largest tablet
by Samsung is presently an 11.6-inch screen tablet.
It is
expected that the tab will use Samsung Display’s LCD panel which will equip it
with a full HD resolution. It is also been predicted that it will have the same
resolution as the Nexus 10 which is also manufactured by Samsung.
According to
IDC, Samsung sold 8.1 million tablet PCs in the second quarter of 2013, 2.1
million units up from 2012. Its market share in the tablet market worldwide has
also risen to 18.9%.
Toshiba
recently announced a 13.3-inch tablet in June so Samsung will not be having the
prize of the biggest tablet. Panasonic has also produced a mega 20-inch 4K
tablet which is already out in the market.
It must be
noted that some of Samsung’s tablets was among the products banned in Apple’spatent lawsuit against the South Korean company.
Good news! I believe someday, there might have tablets which you can fold and expandable from 7 inches to 20 inches, I think that would be awesome.
