Giant telecoms
company, Globacom limited has extended it Glo Bounce tariff to users in Abuja
especially students.
The tariff
which Glo has made particularly for students and youth was launched at the
Sheraton Hotels on Sunday. Glo hopes that this tariff will increase the
connectivity between students and build a large base of youths on its network.
Speaking at
the launch event, Globacom General Manager, Consumer Marketing, Ashutosh Tiwary
claimed that the new product offers many benefits to young users of the
Nigerian telecom network.
“Glo Bounce
is a special package with unrivalled benefits that takes into consideration the
lifestyle needs of the youths and ensures that they get the best from the Glo
network,” he said.
Some of the
benefits he claimed included low call rates in campuses, free data, free ring
back tunes, free facebooking, and low SMS rates.
It is
expected that calls will be made at a discounted rate of 5k per second to Glo
users, SMS at the rate of N3 for each sent. The Campus Zone also allows users
to make calls from their campuses at the rate of 5k per second to Glo
subscribers and 10k per second to other networks.
Free data of
30MB will also be given to users when recharge N200 and above on their line. This
is in addition to sending a free SMS for every SMS sent by the subscriber,
having opportunity to make free night calls (between 12midnight and 5am) after
spending a minimum of N30 during the day.
“Because of
the youth target for the product, the target of 5k per second will be available
in all tertiary institutions across the country. This is a big opportunity for
youths everywhere to interact with their peers on the Glo network and enjoy
these unlimited benefits.” he noted.
Glo is
popularly known as the network that liberated Nigerians from very costly SIM
cards and enormous call rates. Glo was also the first network to introduce the seconds
billing for calls.
