Umeox X5 set to be the world’s thinnest smartphone

From different ways of classifying smartphones like screen size, operating system (OS), maker, resolution, processor, etc. the Chinese Umeox X5 is set to lead the category of width as it is expected to be the world’s thinnest smartphone when it is released.

It is expected to surpass Huawei’s Ascend P6 which is rumoured to be 6.2mm thick (not yet in the market, expected to be launched by June) by 0.6mm at 5.6mm. This was reported by GizChina in an exclusive post displaying images of the smartphone.

Other details about the device are presently unknown although there are rumours it will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is also expected to be launched in July according to GizChina.

“Leaked hands on photos were sent to us this morning by our source at Umeox which show a prototype sample of the Umeox X5, measuring in at 5.6mm! That’s thinner than Huawei’s P6!

“We don’t have firm hardware specs but we do know that the dimensions are 118×60×5.6mm, it will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as standard and will launch sometime in July!” GizChina said in an exclusive post.

Umeox is a relatively unknown name in the smartphone industry and who knows, this might be their lucky product. Till July.
