Quotes for the week: Steve Jobs (1955-2011)

In case you claim you don’t know Steve Jobs, I expect you to have heard of Apple (not the fruit) before.

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak co created Apple Inc in 1976 when Steve Jobs was only 21! Obviously, that’s asking us what we’re waiting for.

Though he resigned in 1985 to form NeXT, he returned to Apple as CEO in 1997. After loosing the PC battle was lost to Microsoft, there was a need to diversify.

Apple Inc went a long way to revolutionize the way mobile electronic devices are used with the introduction of the highly popular Apple iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

Below are seven quotes of the innovative genius while he was still alive:
My favourite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.

Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.

You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehowconnect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the differences in my life.

If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.

Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.

That’s been one of my mantras – focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.

An iPod, a phone, an internet mobile communicator ... these are not three separate devices! And we are calling it iPhone! Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone. And here it is.

Have a great week.
