Sony has
announced a successor to its flagship Xperia Z1 at the Mobile World Congress in
Barcelona, Spain. It is not a total overhaul but it has made some important
improvements to Xperia Z1.
The Xperia Z2
is packed with a 5.2-inch screen which is 0.2-inch bigger than its sibling, Z1.
It comes with the same resolution of 1,920 ×
1,080-pixel. It comes with a more improved 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon
801 processor and 3GB of RAM.

It is also
waterproof and can withstand water to the depth of 1 metre for 30 minutes. It comes
with the same 20.7 megapixel rear camera but Z2’s camera is able to capture 4K
video which is a notable improvement.
It comes with
the latest version of Google’s operating system, Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. The body
is still made of glass in the back and front with aluminium band along the rim.
It also comes with a 3,200mAh battery which should be able to serve the
smartphone effectively.
It is
expected that it could cost over £500 (125,000 naira) when it is
available by the end of March.
