Microsoft’s
game console, Xbox One went on sale on the 22nd of November in 13 countries and
Microsoft has revealed that the console has sold over 1 million units in the 13
markets. This is a week after its big rival Sony announced that PS4 hit over a
million sales in its first day in the North American market.
“We are
humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world,”
revealed Yusuf Mehdi, Xbox’s corporate Vice President of Marketing and
Strategy, in a statement. “Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get
their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for
everyone on the Xbox team.”

Microsoft
revealed that most of its stock in these markets is taken by customers and it
is trying to replace stock in stores worldwide. This is the best ever sales
figure of Microsoft’s Xbox consoles beating out Xbox 360 figures.
“We are
working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling
holiday gift wishes this season,” he said.
It must be
noted that Xbox One’s rival PS4 has only launched in the U.S. and Canada. It is
very obvious that the console battle will be tight after long years of no
console from both companies.
