Windows 8.1
comes with the return of the windows start button which was absent in Windows
8. This really caused an outcry as users wanted the start button, now it’s back
and the apps tiles can now be customized to have different sizes.
The
multitasking ability of Windows 8.1 has also been improved. Four apps can now
be run together on a screen in Windows 8.1 which will allow users access more
apps at the same time.
It comes with
support for 3D printing, complete content synchronization across devices and
animated wallpapers.
It must be
noted that Windows 8.1 is only available free of charge to users of Windows 8
users but users of older Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows 8.1
Preview will have to pay for the upgrade.
It will be
available in DVD at retail locations worldwide tomorrow at the price of $120
(19,200 naira) for Windows 8.1 and $200 (32,000 naira) for Windows 8.1 Pro.
From tomorrow, 18th of October, new Windows devices will come with Windows 8.1.
As usual, it is
advisable to back up your files before upgrading to avoid losing files. Word on
the internet also claims that the update is about 3GB in size so a lot of data
and time is needed. It is also advisable to plug your computer to a power
outlet before attempting the upgrade.
