Ahead of the
expected launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear on Wednesday (4th), a
picture has appeared on venturebeat which the site claims is the picture of the
awaited smartwatch.
Venturebeat revealed a picture of the smartwatch on its site. The reporter claims she was
not allowed to take the picture of the device and was only able to take
pictures from the still images of the promotional video for the device.

The report
claims the promotional video is being made by a third party and not Samsung. The
device revealed has a screen of about three inches in size. The screen is made
up of an OLED display.
The smartwatch
has Bluetooth LE (low energy) through which it connects to Galaxy S smartphones
and tablets, although there is a possibility of connecting to other android
devices. It contains Wi-Fi which can be used for internet access even when not
connected to a smartphone.
It has a
4-megapixel camera built into the strap. Perhaps the biggest function of the
smartwatch is related to its health functions. The smartwatch is able to track
health data, including steps heart rate, calorie intake and other functions
through its apps.
In related
news though, GigaOm has claimed that the smartwatch will not look like the picture leaked by Venturebeat claiming it is only a prototype and Samsung will
launch a different, more finished product on Wednesday.
GigaOm claims
that according to its sources, the galaxy gear will not have an inbuilt browser
like the previous report and will need a smartphone to be connected to use the
browser on the smartphone. It will also come with the latest android 4.3 Jelly
Bean if the reports are to be believed.
It claims the
screen will also measure 2.5 inches. The battery life is expected to be 24
hours with modest use and around 10 hours with more active usage.
A few days
ago, the interface of the galaxy gear was leaked online by evleaks. At this
point in time, we cannot ascertain the party which is giving a true account but
I guess by Wednesday, the original and most dependable source concerning this
device, Samsung will unveil the awaited product. Stay tuned.
