Jason Leon is not a hunter nor an explorer, he is just a
gentle man who was driving late at night recently in Southeast Miami-Dade
County with his friend in his car.
He saw about three feet of a snake protruding from the bush.
He applied the brakes, got out of his car, grabbed the visible part of the
snake, and dragged it out onto the road.

The snake tried to wrap its body around Leon’s legs but with
the help of his friends, he was able to kill the snake with a knife. Bravo!
The Burmese python which measures 18 feet 8 inches (5.7m) is
the longest Burmese python that has been caught on record. It beat the former
record holder which was caught August last year in Everglades National Park and
is 17 feet 7 inches long (5.4m).
Leon is said to be an owner of a Burmese python before it
became illegal to own the snakes in 2010 and that could explain to an extent
why he was able to conquer the long and dangerous reptile.
The Burmese python was caught on May 11 and weighs 58kg.
