through over 1 million units within 24 hours of launch in North America!”
Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Worldwide studio President revealed on Twitter.
Adam Boyes,
Sony Vice President of publisher and developer relations also added, “Thanks to
all of you gamers in getting in getting us to 1,000,000 sales of PS4 in our
first 24 hours!”
Sony Computer
Entertainment President, Andrew House revealed that Sony hopes to make 5
million sales of the console by March of 2014. “We expect continued enthusiasm
as we launch the PlayStation 4 in Europe and Latin America on November 29,” he
said.
This looks
possible considering that the console is only out in North America and has made
over a million sales.
The
PlayStation 4 will be released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand on the 29th
of November. It is expected that the console will not launch until 2014 in
Japan, Sony’s home.
The console
which costs $399 has had the fastest start for a PlayStation system so far.
However, some users of the PS4 console had complained about their consoles not
outputting video and having a flashlight.
“A handful of
people have reported issues with their PlayStation 4 systems,” Sony said in a
statement to IGN. “This is within our expectation for a new product
introduction, and the vast majority of PS4 feedback has been overwhelmingly
positive. We are closely monitoring for a great launch.”
Xbox One has
also been anticipated and observers are watching with interest which console
will win the battle of the gaming consoles.
