People
familiar with Apple’s programs have confirmed that Apple will hold an
invitation only event this month to launch new tablets and even possibly a Mac,
according to reports from All Things D.
All Things D has reported that the new Apple devices will be launched on the 22nd of
October. Devices that will be launched include the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2.
The new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks could also feature during the event

This is similar
to the time iPad 4 and the first iPad Mini was released last year. The report
however indicated that the event will not hold at California Theatre in San
Jose, where it held last year.
The iPad 5 is
expected to come with Apple’s new 64-bit A7 processor which was debuted on the
recently released iPhone 5S. It will also be thinner and lighter than its
predecessor, iPad 4.
The iPad Mini
is also expected to have the A7 processor. It is also expected to have a retina display after complaints by consumers about the low picture quality of the
first iPad Mini. It is not yet confirmed but there are rumours that TouchID,
Apple’s fingerprint scanner which was also debuted on iPhone 5S could also
feature on the two devices
Apple needs
to step up because the competition from Amazon’s Kindle and Google’s Nexus
offer a better image at lower price. We will keep you posted as we get more
details.
